These are some of our traditions here in Chania, Crete:
🥀 On the evening of Good Friday the Epitaph procession takes place, which symbolises the tomb of Christ and the grief of people.
✝️ On Holy Saturday midnight, the priest announces that Christ has risen, the Holy Fire is shared with everyone attending and fireworks fill the sky!
🍴 On Easter Sunday, people gather with their families at their villages to feast. The spit-roasted lamb is the highlight of this day, lasting up to 6 hours of slow cooking!
